Structure

The governing bodies of the Armenian Insurers Union are the General Assembly of the Organization’s Members, the Board and the Executive Body – the Executive Director.

Regular meetings of General Assembly are convened every year, no later than six months after the end of the financial year. The meeting is chaired by the Chairman of the Board, or in his absence, by the senior member of the Board.

Each member of the AIU has one vote at the meeting.

The meeting has the right to make a decision on the final resolution of any issue related to the activities of the Union.

The Board is elected by the General Assembly for a term of five years. The Executive Directors of the AIU member companies are elected to the Board. The Chairman of the Board is simultaneously the Executive Director of one of the member companies. The term of office of the Chairman is one year. According to the Charter, he cannot be elected twice in a row.

Currently, the Chairman of the Board is Armine Melkonyan, Executive Director of Sil Insurance.

The Executive Director is appointed by the General Assembly. The candidate must have at least 10 years of work experience in the financial and/or insurance system, including 5 years of management experience.

Currently, the Executive Director of the AIU is Tamara Habetyan.
